Polyol is the base material for PU synthesis. Polyether and polyester types each have unique characteristics requiring balanced consideration of performance and cost.
Polyether Polyol
Made by ring-opening polymerization of propylene oxide or ethylene oxide, offering excellent hydrolysis resistance, low-temperature flexibility and lower viscosity for large-scale production.
Polyester Polyol
Made by condensation of dibasic acids and diols, superior mechanical strength and abrasion resistance but poorer hydrolysis resistance, used in high-performance elastomers and coatings.
